Schnelle Vorbereitung ohne Verzögerung

Das Regelsystem benötigt nur sechsseitige Würfel, Stift und Papier. Die Mechaniken verstehst du in wenigen Minuten. So startest du die gemeinsame Geschichte buchstäblich sofort.

Das übersichtliche System bietet dir reichhaltige Zufallstabellen sowie Ortsbeschreibungen. Die Regeln liefern dir schnelle Inspiration für den Spielleiter ohne unnötigen Ballast. Du spielst damit sowohl abendfüllende One-Shots als auch kürzere Kampagnen für 2 bis 6 Spieler.

Potvory is a rules-light tabletop role-playing game that offers a new look at Slavic mythology and folklore through a queer lens. It invites players to re-examine established cultural narratives while collectively telling an exciting story of unlikely heroes.

From the stone walls of Prague to the shores of the Volga river, people tell stories of Rusalky – the feminine spirits of people who died virgins, or Hejkal – the shapeshifter that lives in the forest and can take any form they wish.

Potvory is based on these folk stories of monsters who defy traditional gender expression and their condition in a changing world, rapidly advancing and leaving them behind. We propose that these creatures, and many others, were queer-coded to show how scary and alien they were. But in Potvory, we encourage players to embrace these “monstrous” traits and play the vilified characters in the roles that usually belong to traditional “heroes”.

How do you play Potvory?

Potvory is played with 2-6 players and one Game Master, and runs on our custom Hourglass D6 RPG system. The system is designed to be fast to prepare and easy to run, it focuses heavily on emergent gameplay and collaborative storytelling. To play you would need a couple of six sided dice, pens, and character sheets. During the game, each player represents one of the 6 Monster Archetypes: Vodník, Jezinka, Čert, Rusalka, Hejkal, and Kikimora.

We designed the game materials and rules to be super clear, light, and easy to reference, to help both players and the game master focus on what it all is really about – telling a meaningful story together. Potvory also includes a guide for game structure that can be helpful for people who are new to RPGs.
